Privacy notice

Who operates this application

Santosh Karki operates IT Guy Stories Automation for the IT Guy Stories YouTube channel. This notice applies to the local automation application and its use of Google account data. Effective 18 October 2026.

Google account access

The channel owner authorizes access through Google OAuth. The requested permissions allow video uploads, channel information reads, analytics reads and the broader YouTube write access used for scheduling. That broader permission includes capabilities beyond those implemented by the application. The application implements uploads, scheduling, thumbnail updates and reads; it does not implement video deletion or comment posting. It does not access Gmail, contacts or calendar data, or accept other users’ Google accounts.

How information is used

Channel information identifies the intended upload destination. Videos, titles, descriptions, thumbnails and scheduling metadata are sent to YouTube when authorized publishing operations run. Channel analytics are used to evaluate the channel’s performance. Public-source research supports video production. Private previews remain private unless their visibility is subsequently changed.

Storage and security

Google access and refresh tokens are stored in the owner’s macOS Keychain. OAuth client configuration is held in a protected local project folder. Research snapshots, production files, upload state and analytics exports are stored on the owner’s Mac. The current research and narration models run locally.

Sharing and service providers

YouTube receives and processes uploaded content and metadata under its own terms and privacy practices. The application does not sell Google user data or send OAuth tokens or channel analytics to advertising services or external AI model providers. Research sources and licensed asset providers receive ordinary requests for public material, without the owner’s Google tokens or channel analytics.

Google API data commitments

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google account data is used only to provide the channel management and production functions described here.

Retention, revocation and deletion

Local project records remain on the owner’s Mac until removed by the owner. Access can be revoked through Google Account third-party connections. After authorization is revoked or expires, account operations require renewed authorization. The owner can request removal of locally stored account records through the contact route below. Removing local files does not delete videos already stored by YouTube; those must be managed separately through YouTube’s controls.
